Garden

The garden today looks very different from what it looked 15 years ago. Frimousse’s lime-tree has grown. How about the little fir-tree on the side of the lane! But the real difference is not visible on the photos. In December of 2002 there were three cats: Frimousse, RouXy, and Tigri.

No cats left today. Well… not really. Mimi, the pussy of our neighbours on the other side of the road, has understood that Plume was gone and so was Frimousse. The way is clear, then. She comes nearly every day now, early in the morning. Yesterday she caught a mouse in our garden.

Ah ! So Mimi is a tortoiseshell ! Prayers for her to be safe – but what else can one do ? Still, the garden is lovely – so full of memories – bittersweet !

She runs away if you try to “talk” to her. But we don’t want to change her life.
She has Masters – 3 “little” Masters and their parents.
Two cats live with her, I believe.
In the garden we have just planted tomatoes and salads, and courgettes – or do you say “zucchini”?
      Some flowers too.
But the weather has been very crazy – , very little snow, cold when it should be warm, hot when it should be mild. Global warming?
Have a nice week-end. Rain today here. Better tomorrow.

We are ‘flatlanders’…meaning, well…no mountains around here! Some gently rolling hills, but we have Lake St. Clair within a few miles, plus the Detroit River. Angels Frimousse, RouXy, and Tigri are still in your garden…Mimi comes over to visit with them!

It must have been nice to see a cat outside and it sounds like Mimi is a great mouser.

We haven’t had the visit of Mimi this morning. I try not to think of her. She has Masters anyway; And she is well-fed.
      Sunshine this Monday morning.
View from the living-room window and from the balcony. These views are on the south side of the house.
On the north side we have a plum-tree very close from the house, and there are plenty of trees in the gardens of our neighbours. So no view.

What Nature looks like 2 minutes from our house :
