Frimousse’s docteure doesn’t puncture cats without a proper anaesthetic. And in the condition of an old cat like Frimousse an anaesthetic can prove fatal. The swelling of the stomach due to ascites doesn’t make Frimousse suffer, he feels the same discomfort as a woman expecting a baby. In addition to that the ascites would come back rapidly to the same level and a new puncture would be necessary within eight or ten days, with another anaesthetic.
So she gave Frimousse an injection, the same medicine as a fortnight ago, and we came back home. Frimousse spent much of the evening on top of his piano.
This morning he asked me to open the cat flap for him only a few minutes ago, at 8:30. That is very unusual. By, before, he “helped” me cut the meat for the moussaka I am preparing for our visitors tomorrow. What he ate represents quite a proper meal for him!
Thank you for concerning yourself with our sweet Frimousse’s health. How long will he still be alive? His docteure can’t say. She told us that Frimousse will become weaker and weaker and injections will no longer be able to boost his appetite nor walk about in his garden, and live his life.
We are pleased to read Frimousse is back in charge and helping out with preparations for visitors. So good he has eaten in anticipation. Our purrs and thoughts continue, for good luck and continuing appetite for our friend.
thank you for your message. At the moment he is waiting for the postman under the balcony, watching what’s going on in his garden. he seems calm and happy.
Have a good day!
This is the best news possible under the circumstances. I did not realized he was such an accomplished pianist ! Purrs and prayers and “Power of the Paw” as we say.
RouXy hated Frimousse’s Mistress playing the piano! Frimousse just loves it! He’d like to sleep on the wires but she wouldn’t allow that! So she let the “lid” closed and he lie on it.
I’ll ask Patty O’Malley for his eat-up-everything-in-sight tips to pass along to Frimousse! Patty is a fatty, which is pretty odd for an outside-only friendly feral. I wonder if a neighbor leaves out food, and he eats at our house AND with someone else! Plus the mouses and such that he catches. Yep, Patty is an eating machine!
RouXy was nearly an eating machine too. Except at the end of course. But he vomitted a lot! Eating too much too quickly!
I will be praying Frimousse has more quality time with you. XO
Good to hear that Frimousse is eating a bit more–I wish he wold play us a song on that piano!
His Mistress played “Let it be” for him a couple of hours ago. He liked that, I think.
But he preferred the “gambas” he had a little later. I made a 15-second film of his arrival on the “gambas scene”. I don’t know if the result will be ok for showing…
Purrs for each day ! Glad his Mistress played for him !
Frimousse is slowly declining. He spent about half an hour walking round his garden when I opened the cat-flap for him. Now he’s sleeping upstairs. Waiting for the sky to clear up?
his Mistress is running by the Lake at the moment; I think she’ll play the piano for Frimousse this afternoon.
We are glad to hear that he is eating and enjoying “his” home. He seems pretty well and we enjoy seeing his photos and getting updates. Remember to take good care of yourselves as this can be very stressful.
Purrs and Prayers
